As we near 2020, the need for office and meeting space looms large. But also within view is the building we worked hard to plan for. Lord willing, this building will serve ABT’s mission while also meeting agricultural zoning requirements.
Fulfilling our mission means spending time with members and churches. Though we travel to churches often, and members mostly train elsewhere, there is a lot that takes place right here:
- Daily office work and weekly committee meetings
- Orientation for new members
- Annual Camp Week, with all available members
- Pre-field Training with teams (4 to 6 weeks)
- Quarterly Board meetings
- Meetings with churches, members, and candidates
Meeting areas are in addition to five office spaces, and double as agricultural storage and processing, since agriculture takes place all around on this hill. A kitchen will serve multiple functions as well. Below is an updated computer rendering.

A note from Joel
The past year provided a steep learning curve for those of us working with building plans. Although ABT had been involved with initial land development plans here in 2014, that project was on the residential level instead of commercial.
The township council board eventually voted in favor of granting a zoning permit this past summer and since then we’ve focused on completing a building design that will meet the requirements for our regional Code Office. We have also continued working with a civil engineering firm to navigate all the necessary documentation for the Department of Environmental Protection and other related departments. The review processes from the above entities has been demanding. We appreciate your prayers as we continue this process!
