Why Our Mission Starts with the Church
One of the primary ways God intends to reach the world with the gospel is through the love and witness of the local church.
In a previous post, we saw God’s passion to dwell in the community of His people. There His glory descended in old covenant days. And where does He display His glory and goodness today? In the local church! A unified church bears powerful witness to Jesus. He said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).
A church’s testimony may reach far beyond its local community. A church can send extensions of itself to carry the message where the whole congregation could never go. For example, the church at Antioch had a part in reaching the unreached by sending Paul and Barnabas.
At All-Nations, we help churches send. Before someone joins All-Nations, we often meet with church leaders to discuss the commitment involved. The church forms a small support team to coordinate long-term support in areas like communication, prayer, and logistics. We in turn support the church through regular communication and funding. We also take the lead in directing Bible translation and community development efforts.
In Romans 10, Paul asks, “How shall they go, unless they are sent?” Acts 13 tells us that, after prayer and fasting, Paul and Barnabas were sent out by the Holy Spirit and the church. Can church-planting teams today be sent the same way?
All-Nations rejoices to facilitate that kind of sending.
OUR MISSION
We partner with churches to send teams who facilitate Bible translation and community development while working to establish indigenous churches.
