In this presentation Ethan and Lynnae paint a picture of what it’s been like for them to live in a primitive Mixtec village in southern Mexico. The people they have come to love and know have lives very different from our own: superstition, Shamans, curses, animal sacrifices, and many animistic rituals. This presentation explores our vision at All-Nations for church planting. Brother Earl provides some definition for what we call “indigenous” and also gives some synonyms for this term. What do we mean when at All-Nations when we talk about “indigenous church planting” and what do we not mean? Brother Earl suggests that we should seek to plant churches that will be “set apart to God” and yet “reproducible in their cultural context.”

Literacy was God’s idea and it’s worth the effort! The written word doesn’t change, it stands as a reminder of the message, and it enables full access for those who are taught to read that message.

Jerry and Joyce’s enthusiasm for literacy is contagious in this session! They give a helpful overview of the literacy timetable, answer the question of when to start writing literacy curriculum, and give ideas for motivating people to read and write. Literacy is essential to Church Planting and is depicted as one of the legs of a three-legged stool, along with Bible Translation and Chronological Bible Teaching. A viable church plant needs all three!
