The Lost

I know a man who’s lived long years;
And knew not in his life God’s love.
In his long life, a flood of fears;
Yet at his end, no rest above.

For something sweet his heart did grope.
But perfect peace it could not see.
His eyes the devil hid from hope;
And without Christ no light can be.

He’s lived his life no goal in mind.
A reason for his life he’s sought;
Yet, without God will never find,
Eén though his freedom Christ has bought.

‘Tis not his fault he’s not been told
Of God’s love, sacrifice and grace.
But for our God has none been bold,
To take the tidings to his race.

As death now stares him in the face,
For the unknown his heart doth pine.
Had he the chance would he embrace
The One who giveth peace sublime?

To hell, his soul will go, unless!
For God’s name sake we something do.
Whom is to blame for this grand mess?
Christ? nay! Then me? Or you? Or who?
