Not the Least Thing

You may say that it is the least thing I can do to help you press on in this good work. I want to say that it is the most important thing you can do that will make the biggest difference for the kingdom of God. Nothing happens of significance outside of effectual faithful persistent prayer. All we endeavor to do is vain unless it is the result of prayer and, yea, perhaps nothing in God's Kingdom can be done at all outside of fervent prayer springing from the soul after God’s own heart.

We must never place prayer at the bottom of our spiritual experience because there is not holy experience outside of a humble and contrite prayer. It is vital. It is only. It is one. Nothing of lasting value can be without it. No battles were ever fought in God's kingdom and won without the lifting up of holy hands. No souls were ever snatched out of the fire outside of passionate prayer. No ministry ever ministered more effective and continual without intercessory prayer. No Daniel's story would ever be told without there having been prayer. No Muller orphanages, no Nathaniel orphanage, no Moravian Missions, no All-Nations Bible Translation could ever exist outside of fervent prayer to the Holy One. No revivals. No great awakenings. No Pentecost. No reformations. No witnessing. No prison ministry. No martyrdom. No outreach. No China Inland Mission. No Amy Carmichael. No Jim Elliot. Nothing. Nothing ever happens of significance outside of prayer.

Prayer is the waterwheel, the engine, the magnet, the fire, the soul, the access to power behind every victory. Jesus himself said, "Without Me you can do nothing." Period. Nothing. Prayer connects the soul with the Source of Life and Power and allows for the Source of Life and Power to flow in and fill up the soul and overflow to influence the world for eternity. Prayer is not the least you or I can do. It is the most important thing you and I can do. All the rest is what He does! Hallelujah!
