Wednesday at Phase II Training

Today was a day of contingency training with Reagan, about “Risk and Incident” management. This day of training, unlike most, includes concepts that we hope the team never needs to practice! It included some very practical guidance and preparation for responding to hostage threats or incidents. Beyond that, practicing awareness of your situation, assessing security risk levels regularly, and developing a good mindset about potential incidents were stressed. We considered how a follower of Jesus can respond proactively in tense situations to “de-escalate,” perhaps with radical, sacrificial love.

This training appropriately followed our discussion of Psalm 91: what God really does promise His children about suffering and bad situations—and what he doesn’t promise. The team had listened to Tim Keller’s message about Psalm 91, exposing the Satanic exposition of the psalm in contrast to the true. Listen to the message here.
