Last week Lynelle and I, with two of our children, visited several ABT members who are deep into the study of everything linguistic at SIL (Summer Institute of Linguistics) on the campus of University of North Dakota. Every year we try to have an ABT representative spend a day or two on campus to connect with the members as an opportunity for engagement and encouragement, and this year I had the privilege! We were able to spend time with each one individually and also had a great time fellowshiping together on our last evening there. Remember to PRAY that God would give them sustaining grace, as their studies are very intense. This 9-week program wraps up August 2, so they are now headed into the most intense time of the course with finals, etc. Enjoy the pictures below from there!
On this trip we also were able to spend several days of valuable connection time with an ABT field member, and his family, who is currently back on a furlough in their home area 5 hours south of SIL in South Dakota.
I was impressed again, on this trip, that the task of bringing the Word of God to those who have never read it in their language is a momentous task—not only in preparation but also on the field! Let’s band together and pray that “God’s Kingdom would come and that His will would be done on earth as it is in Heaven” at SIL and in the remote parts of the globe where His laborers are working.
Yours for the King,
Bryant
