A Conquering Faith

More than conquerors through Him that loved us
We fight in this our day.
Surrend’ring only to the Lord of Lords
Who strengthens us to stay…

Unmoved and strong regardless of the war.
We fight the battles strong.
Heeding the Commander’s written orders,
Triumphing with a song.

Upward and onward we take vale and hill,
Winning in His name.
Or fighting through the darkened jungles deep,
He’s by our side the same.

Running and climbing and watching for foe,
We fight without a cower.
The combat’s not with carnal swords and guns,
But Holy Spirit power.

Champions of a realm that knows no end,
Inspired by a hero throng.
In this eternal kingdom we defend,
Our battle cry is strong.

Through valleys dark and mountains high,
Our spirits must not wane.
More than conquerors, under His watchful eye,
In His majestic reign.

Thus onward and upward, oh ne’er give up,
Whether battles fierce and long.
The King – and faithful ones – we’ll gather soon
To sing the victor’s song.
