Humility and Confidence

At All-Nations, we have identified three pairs of core values. See a previous post about Tradition and Innovation: embracing our Anabaptist heritage, acknowledging its values and strengths, while stepping forward boldly to take new territory in Jesus’ name.

The second pair of core values is Humility and Confidence: Prayerfully dependent on God, acknowledging our inadequacy and the impossibility of the vision, yet assured of God’s call to make disciples of Jesus in every nation and to equip his people for the task.

Dependent on God

God has all the answers for pursuing the vision of believing communities in every language group. He alone understands the best way to handle every challenge, whether in Bible translation or some other aspect of cross-cultural church planting.

Yes, we encourage churches to become good senders. Yes, we advise teams in translation work. But in it all, we must demonstrate the humility that shows our dependence on God. Through the constant practice of prayer, we must seek the Source of all wisdom.

Assured of God’s Call

The church’s call is clear: to make disciples in every nation, teaching them to observe all things Jesus commanded. Our place is to serve the church in her calling. God help us faithfully fill that role! Then we can be confident of His blessing and wisdom.
